Operating Model

NAA has developed an efficient and impactful operating model specifically tailored for young individuals between the ages of 16 and 35. This model seamlessly integrates various services, strategically organized to cater to the needs of our target audience. Its primary objective is to deliver services to youth effectively and efficiently while also fostering collaboration with our CCOPIs (Collaborating Companies for Outreach and Project Implementation) who are encouraged to join us in supporting NAA’s mission.

Operating Model Details

The first phase of NAA's operating model focuses on Youth Mobilization, utilizing various channels such as webinars, seminars, podcasts, social media and influencers. This phase aims to deliver impactful youth Mindset Shift Campaigns, foster civic engagement and promote the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. These activities not only contribute to NAA's baseline study but also create a strong foundation for further initiatives.

Moving forward, NAA engages in Gap Analysis by collaborating with the Private Sector, Government Agencies involved in Youth Affairs, Trade and Investment, culture and mental health. This analysis involved conducting comprehensive Training Needs Assessment, which includes analyzing employer/job needs, geographical segmentation, exploring career pathways and identifying talent development needs Additionally, NAA addresses the requirements for School-to-work transition training. This meticulous gap analysis provides valuable insights and completes NAA's Baseline Study.

The findings from this study enable NAA’s management team to carry out a strategic Youth Database Segmentation, which serves as the Baseline Information for NAA’s implementing bodies. NAA’s activities are then carried out in a specific order:

NAA Operating Levels

Involve the Career and Talent Development Hub (CTDH). CTDH is responsible for providing practical livelihood and life skills training, emphasizing the preservation and promotion of authentic cultural heritage, and establishing links to job creation. CTDH graduates are divided into two groups: skilled, talented, and highly employable youth ready to enter the labor market, and a reasonable number of aspiring young entrepreneurs. All graduates are documented in NAA's database for ongoing development and capacity building.

Comprises the Nelisa Entrepreneurship Hub (NEH), which caters to aspiring and existing young entrepreneurs. NEH offers Startups Incubation and Startups Acceleration Programs, providing comprehensive support and resources to early-stage entrepreneurs. These programs focus on refining ideas, developing viable business models, accessing funding opportunities, and expediting growth and success in the competitive market.

Introduces the Nelisa Startup Fund (NSF). NSF plays a vital role in producing well-informed job creators. Eligible startups meeting the necessary requirements and processes receive early-stage venture capital finance from NSF. The amount of funding offered is determined based on factors such as sector focus, applicant input, and relevant factors defined by NSF policy. To access NSF, startups must be formally registered to support inclusive economic development. The funds for NSF are sourced from NAA's overall income, grants, angel investors, and investors seeking to promote youth entrepreneurship while achieving a reasonable return on investment. NSF exits once the startups have reached a sustainable level, following the parameters outlined in the NSF Policy's exit strategy. NAA acts as a reliable partner during a specified period to ensure the sustainability of the NSF scheme, as the funded startups may not have the ability to provide collaterals and loan guarantees required by existing financial institutions.

Introduces the Nelisa Recovery Hub (NRH), which focuses on the mental health and wellness of NAA's target youth. Through collaboration with registered mental health professionals and social workers, NRH provides mental health education and prevention services, as well as transformation and recovery programs.

At each level, NAA adopts a continuing participatory methodology to support youth in every step of their journey. This approach ensures active engagement and maximizes the impact of NAA’s services on the youth population, creating an environment that fosters growth, resilience, and success.
